4 Days Mt Kenya Trekking Sirimon out Chogoria route

Day 1: Nanyuki to Old Moses Camp

You will picked by the mountain guide at your hotel in Nanyuki town, check the mountain equipment for hire ( Thursday by Guide) Meet the team of cook and porters plus food supplies. The transfer takes about 45 minutes to Sirimon park gate 2,650m. After entry payment by the guide you will start the hike through the forest accompanied by your guides, cook and porters to Old Moses camp 3,300m. ( 3-4 hrs walk). Arrive for lunch and then relax or take a short walk in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Old Moses Camp to Shiptons Camp

Today you will wake up at 06.00 am for packing and preparing for the trek. At 6.30 am, you settle for breakfast, and then leave the camp with your packed lunch and start the hike through the moorland viewing high attitude flowers, animals and birds to Shipton camp 4,200m. ( 6-7hs). Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Shiptons to Chogoria Park Gate

This will be a day for acclimatization where you will wake up at around 2.30 am for dressing and take an early morning tea and at around 3.00 am start the climbing along a lose scree which sometimes of the year is covered with snow to reach the summit of Lenana 4,985m. ( 3hrs) the third peak in Mt. Kenya to catch the sunrise and after a superb view from the summit as far as Mt. Kilimanjaro to the south, descend back to Mintos hut (1.5hrs) for breakfast then take a long day walk to the roadhead for lunch then to the Chogoria park gate for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chogoria Park Gate to Nairobi

After breakfast, descend down in Chogoria Forest for 3- 4 hrs and you connect a transfer car to drive off the forest to Chogoria town where you will drop the porters and then drive back to Nairobi arriving in the evening.
